Asthma Medication - Minimize It

Having lived with asthma symptoms for over 17 years the subject of asthma medication is very well known. Especially when asthma is aggravated by allergies to just about everything. What with flovent, beclovent, this vent, that vent, this danger, that side effect, the dark cloud of asthma always seems to be ever looming.

The regular ordering and trips to the drugstore or pharmacy are well known here. Dealing with insurance and constant changes to drugs and drug policies is a real pain in the %#$, to say the least. The constant misery from allergies can be a real downer. One develops a certain tolerance to this misery and the constant dull headaches become a normal part of the day.

Using any kind of an artificial drug usually will have detrimental effects on a person's health over time. Asthma medication is no different.

Having and using more than two asthma medications for a lifetime makes it all the more important to research alternate ways to fight the symptoms and disheartening effects of asthma. There are many different natural remedies one can use for the treatment of asthma. Most of which can work if used properly and regularly.

The goal of using asthma medication less and less can be achieved, to the point where any medication needed for an asthma attack would only be necessary for a true emergency.

Many people with acute cases of this disease are beating the odds and making the use of prescribed asthma drugs a thing of the past. Reducing dependency can definitely improve health and lessen the hit to the pocketbook. Asthma is still a very serious life threatening disease and attempts to limit the use of asthma medication should be approached slowly and with caution. Always work with a physician and monitor symptoms closely.

Once a treatment or remedy is working well, then asthma symptoms will hopefully be a thing of the past or very rare at least.

Asthma Symptoms - Keep Fighting the Good Fight

Asthma is a frightening condition. I have lived with asthma symptoms for 17 years and the thought of an allergy induced asthma attack is ever present each day. Always being sensitive to the beginning signs of an asthma attack are important so that one can avoid a trip too the emergency room of the local hospital or medical center.

These are the signs to be aware of, yet not always signaling the start of an asthma attack:

Shortness in breathing
Sighing
Chest tightness or pain, this one is scary
Problems sleeping due to shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing and allergy symptoms
A very audible whistling or wheezing sound when you exhale
Quick occasions of coughing or wheezing that get worse because of a respiratory virus such as a cold or the flu
Rapid breathing
General fatigue symptoms
When one is not able to exercise properly (which is called exercise-induced asthma)
Anxiety and stress
Difficulty concentrating and focusing, excess worry
Chronic aggravated cough without wheezing
Keep this in mind and do not panic, asthma symptoms can look like many other conditions like bronchitis, vocal cord dysfunction, and even sometimes heart failure.

The severity of asthma attacks can increase very rapidly, it is very important to treat asthma symptoms immediately.

Not getting immediate treatment, or using an asthma inhaler or bronchodilator, breathing most likely will become more labored. If you wee to use a peak flow meter (that is if you have one and you should) at this time, the reading will be as low as <50% of capacity.

People with severe asthma must receive adequate asthma treatment, and will eventually be unable to speak, and develop a bluish coloring around the lips. Known as cyanosis, this color change means the asthma symptom sufferer will have less and less oxygen in the blood. Without aggressive treatment immediately for this asthma emergency, can lose consciousness and eventually die.

Not an experience anyone wants to have.

Trips to the hospital are not fun at all. They are scary, time consuming and expensive. If those who suffer from asthma symptoms just stay ahead of it and use every means at their disposal to fight asthma, especially using preventative measures, treatment, asthma management becomes a lot easier.

Don't let asthma beat you. Learn all you can to make your life with asthma a life with very few asthma symptoms.

Allergy And Asthma-Todays Control

Asthma is a very debilitating disease. I have lived with the affects of asthma for 17 years.

Natural allergy and asthma treatments use supplements readily available at your local health food and vitamin store. For now natural supplements can not be patented, controlled or even owned by any company or person. The reality, today is it costs billions of dollars to develop a drug for market and without airtight patents to protect it, there is no way for drug companies to get a return on such a massive investment.

You really can actually breathe freer and enjoy your active life again. Taking the time to research asthma and put what you learn into practice can make a big difference.

Something to keep in mind, prescription treatments cannot cure. Why, because they do not address the root causes of asthma - they can only address trigger factors and symptoms and ultimately just cover up the symptoms of asthma.

One thing is true when it comes to the health and fitness industry, there is a ton information and mixed messages concerning what you need to eat, how we all should exercise, or what pills and potions to take. The research that I have completed points to a common factor, and in discovering it I have learned one of the greatest secrets of health that has changed lives forever and will hopefully change yours!

A well known saying by Hippocrates cuts it to the chase when he stated.

"Let your food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."

Kept in check with good and proper nutrition, the body's inflammation system works hard to keep itself healthy, strong and disease free. The body uses the nutritional ingredients that we ingest to survive. But when our body is nutrient-deficient, we become plagued by all kinds of health problems. Just look at the state of the population of the USA right now. The simple fact is most health issues involve inflammation that can be relieved with healthy living.

People who pursue natural asthma alternatives are now able to enjoy activities they never thought they could. For many it is a great relief to be able to live life to the fullest, without worrying about when the next debilitating asthma attack will occur!

Another point is to know that stress is one of the things that can trigger asthma attacks? Stress should not be feared it is an aspect of life that needs to be managed.

You'll find that there are a myriad of causes and symptoms of stress and anxiety.

Stress and anxiety can appear anytime or anywhere and can increase allergy and asthma symptoms. A growing body of research is suggesting that there are many ways to reduce the negative effects of being stressed or suffering from constant anxiety. You can control your stress and anxiety; no matter what it is that is stressing you out!

It is wise to work hard and resist that which would try to bring us down and defeat us! There is no other option in my opinion.
